Our Lecturers
Emily is currently Teacher of English at Charterhouse School in Surrey.
​
She has taught at leading UK universities as a lecturer and digital skills tutor, at institutions including the University of Surrey and the University of Southampton.
She has tutored English Literature and Language for all major exam boards (both online and in person), as well as developing curriculum for KS3, KS4 and KS5 homeschooling.
​
Her teaching qualification is a Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy, which consisted of an18 month intensive teaching course at postgraduate level.

For the last two years, Alanna has been an Assistant Headteacher and Teaching & Assessment Coordinator at Twickenham School.

She is a current Member of the Strategic Management Board (Secondary Education). This forum is used to discuss and instigate change for PGCEs, SDs and NQTs at the University of Roehampton.

She spent eight years as a secondary school teacher in Maths and Music in the Greater London area.

Surina is a Core Subject Specialist in Maths and Chemistry at The Rise Free School. She has been a teacher since 2002 and has extensive experience of teaching Science and Maths at KS3, 4 and 5. Before becoming a teacher, Surina was a Forensic Scientist.

She is experienced at working with students from all kinds of backgrounds, including SEN in her current job role. Over the years she has taught across all of the sciences and maths for a range of exam boards.

Dr Emily Crosby
Emily is a trainee Child and Educational Psychologist currently working on her doctorate at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.
She has 7 years' experience of working with children and young people across a variety of ages and settings. Emily has a Ph.D and a BSc in Psychology.
Emily also specialises in supporting exam related anxiety and stress and can incorporate this into her sessions. Alternatively, Emily can provide sessions that solely focus on managing exam related stress and anxiety.

Vanessa is a native Spanish speaker and has attained qualifications in ELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language) and ESL (English as Second Language) teacher.
She has worked for five years as a primary and secondary teacher in English and Spanish.
She taught at Regnum Christi International School Network in Colombia and Venezuela.
She has also tutored English and Spanish for International Exams (IELTS, TOEFL, GCSE, Spanish).

Laurie gained a Celta certificate in 2007 and worked in three European countries (Portugal, Spain and France) and consistently at language schools in the UK.
She has experience teaching General English to teenagers, young adults and adults.
She has also given many on-site and school based Business English or Technical English lessons in a 1:1 or small group format to employees of pharmaceutical, automotive, tourism and other industries.
